🇬🇧 This week I share some of my favourite queer podcasts. One of the things I like the most about podcasts is when it gives me the opportunity to learn about people, places and events I never would have heard of otherwise. I love when researchers use the podcast format to share their research and knowledge. Today I want to share two great American podcasts about queer history.

⊳ History is Gay is a very well researched and well produced podcast hosted by queer nerds Leigh and Gretchen. Their nerdiness and love for queer history is what makes me like this podcast the most. And as a Swede I thought the episode about Queen/King Kristina of Sweden was especially interesting. You know that Queen who who loved excess, had a couple of female lovers and probably preferred to move between different gender expressions.

@makinggayhistorypodcast is the podcast version of the book “Making Gay History” (2nd Ed. 2002) which I reviewed in February. This podcast contains the interviews that the book is based on and OMG this is a pure treasure of queer testimonies through the American 20th century history. It is sooo interesting and a great way to get to know the people behind the events that has given us the queer movements we have today. For a Swedish listener it could be very interesting to pair this podcast with the Swedish interview podcast @queerstorypod

Bonus: Two queer history podcasts I haven’t listened to yet that seems very interesting!

@lgbtqpod - A weekly podcast from @theadvocatemag that documents modern queer and trans history.

⊳ Making Queer History explores queer people and events through history.
